OUT is recruiting for a new LGBT youth mental health project

OUT LGBT Well-being offers programmes to address the health, well-being and human rights needs of LGBT communities in South Africa.

About the project

OUT aims to address the mental well-being of young LGBT people in Atteridgeville and Mamelodi through a community-based pilot project, called “The Bazwa Project”. The project will focus on offering free mental well-being services through:

  1. A WhatsApp mental well-being support platform, and
  2. A family peer mental well-being support model


What we are looking for

  • Young LGBT people in Atteridgeville and Mamelodi aged 18 to 24 years to  participate in testing the WhatsApp mental well-being services platform.
  • Family caregivers (parents, guardians) of LGBT adolescents aged 10 to 17 years in Atteridgeville and Mamelodi to participate in the family peer support model.
