Love Not Hate IDAHOTB 2020 social media campaign

To mark the annual International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOTB) on 17 May 2020,  Love Not Hate worked with various embassies and partners to create a week-long social media campaign.

This year’s global theme was “Breaking the Silence”, aiming to “take the space that is rightfully ours, because our voices, our stories, our lived realities matter!”

The Love Not Hate campaign included daily posts that highlighted ongoing challenges facing the LGBTIQ+ community in South Africa, which were shared on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We concluded the campaign with a video in which our partners spoke out to “break the silence.”
