INTERESTED IN BEING AN LGBT YOUTH ACTIVIST?

The theme for the project is “Coming Out, Coming In, and Everything in Between”. The aim is to create a platform of support for LGBT youth by sharing individual stories.

Topics that will be covered are:

• Coming out journey
• Challenges experienced in coming out
• Dealing with homophobia
• Dealing with homosexuality in the workplace, your community or the school.
• Homosexual relationships
• Coping with family/parents who have not accepted their son’/daughter’s sexual orientation

If you are part of the LGBT community, are between the ages of 18 and 35, and believe that you have an interesting story to share about your coming out experience, we’d like to hear from you.

Please send us a short description of your story and why you believe you should be included, as well as a picture of yourself. Please note: Your story / submission should not be longer than two pages!

Based on your written submission, we’ll shortlist twelve participants for the project.

Participants we are hoping to get are:

• 3 x Gay men
• 3 x Lesbian women
• 3 x Bisexual men or women
• 3 x Transgender individuals

The shoot will take place on the 25th of May 2013 at OUT’s offices, situated at 1081 Pretorius Street, Hatfield. Please reserve this date in your diary.
