POSITION : 3 OUTREACH MOBILE DRIVERS
OFFICE : JOHANNESBURG

OUT LGBT Well-being is currently recruiting qualified and experienced mobile drivers to support our USAID project in Johannesburg.

This position will have a direct report to the Outreach Manager and will be for a fixed term.

JOB PURPOSE

Outreach Mobile Driver to drive our mobile clinic and trailer to various sites that we support around the Johannesburg Metro and surrounding districts to help with the roll out of our MSM programme. The successful incumbent will also be required to assist with the HTS responsibilities such as mobilizing.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive mobile clinic and a trailer to various sites.
  • Transport staff and clients to various destinations.
  • Keep records of kilometres travelled, manage, and record them on logbook.
  • Manage and maintain all contents of the mobile clinic.
  • Ensure all the regulatory requirements for operating the mobile clinic are adhered to.
  • Report vehicle accident or damage immediately to the immediate supervisor.
  • Plan and allocate vehicles trips on a day-to-day basis.
  • Transports staff as per the needs of the outreach.
  • Conduct HTS responsibilities, provide support and administrative services.
  • Assisting nurses with the operation of the mobile clinic.
  • Ensure safety of vehicle and staff transported.
  • Ensure that pre-trips and post-trips are conducted daily.
  • Ensure that the vehicle is always parked at OUT premises.
  • Keep up to date with the relevant policies and SOPs

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

  • Minimum grade 12.
  • Must have driver’s license minimum 5 years.
  • Evidence good driving record.
  • Code 10 driver’s license with a trailer and PrDP.
  • Must have no impairments or endorsements.
  • 5 Years drivers experience driving mobile clinic/code 10 vehicle.
  • The incumbent will have to pass the interview and drivers assessment with a trailer.
  • Problem solving and customer service skills.
  • Be familiar with Johannesburg Metro and surrounding districts.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Willing to travel to various communities as and when required.
  • Previously worked with key populations, especially men who have sex with men (MSM).

POSITION : 4 LAY COUNSELLORS

OUT LGBT Well-being is currently recruiting qualified and experienced Lay Counsellors to support our USAID project in Johannesburg.

This position will have a direct report to the Outreach Manager will be for a fixed term.

JOB PURPOSE

Provide quality, confidential and accurate HIV Testing Services (HTS) to high-risk Men who have sex with men (MSM) and ensure that clients are linked into PrEP or ARV services aligned by the 95 – 95 – 95 strategies.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify potential seeds from high risk MSM community.
  • Liaise with the seed with regards to Very important people VIP and CAG events.
  • Ensure IEC materials, HIV Self Screening (HIVSS) kit, condoms, and lubricant are available at VIPs and CAGs.
  •  Distribution of HIV Self Screening (HIVSS) at events.
  • Ensure all outreach equipment (chairs, tables, gazebo etc.) available and in good working condition.
  • Provide client with accurate information, and education on HTS.
  • Perform duties aligned with the required compliance to HIV Testing Services (HTS) guidelines and algorathin.
  •  Ensure proficiency testing of rapid test kits are done and recorded weekly.
  • Conduct HTS with high risk MSM and ensure you reach your daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
  • Link to care all clients who tested for ART or PrEP initiation.
  • Ensure testing gazebos protect the client confidentiality maintained and the privacy of the client protected.
  •  Maintain Cold Chain
  • Ensure compliance with waste management policies.
  • Ensure blood samples are taken to the NHLS daily.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

  • Grade 12
  • Training in Basic HAST, HIV Counselling, Adherence Counselling.
  • Knowledge of DoH HTS guidelines and protocol
  • Experience working as HCT Counsellor.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, focused and reliable.
  • Willing to work flexi hours, weekends, and public holidays as per Organisational requirements.
  • Be informative and knowledgeable and able to communicate on the topics of STIs, PrEP, Referral for HTS, VMMC, give condoms and lube and refer clients for HTS at EMH.
  • Willing to travel to various communities as and when required.
  • Previously worked with key populations, especially men who have sex with men (MSM)

POSITION : 3 ENROLLED NURSES

OUT LGBT Well-being is currently recruiting qualified and experienced Enrolled nurses to support our USAID project in Johannesburg,

This position will have a direct report to the Outreach Manager and will be for a fixed term.

JOB PURPOSE

Enrolled Nurse provides clinical and phlebotomy support to clients, coordinates the delivery of prescription items to clients on ART/PrEP, and other primary health care medication.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Provide timeous treatment follow ups to clients ensuring that clients receive their medication as prescribed.
  • Ensure all medical equipment including medication safely stored for delivery to clients.
  • Provide phlebotomy services as per clinical guidelines.
  • Ensure phlebotomy materials are requested and collected timeously.
  • Tracking and tracing of clients.
  • Ensure that the tracing tool is updated daily.
  • Ensure correct medication administered and recorded.
  • Update clinical notes on Client’s condition.
  • Ensure sufficient treatment issued to clients and recorded.
  • Ensure specific blood for ART clients are taken according to Department of Health (DOH) guidelines.
  • Ensure screening and clinical documentation is accurately completed.
  • Timeous submission of data collection tools to M&E team.
  • Ensure the HTS register is accurately completed and signed daily.
  • Ensure medication is packed appropriately and cold chain maintained.
  • Ensure first in, first out (FIFO) principle regarding medication is adhered, to prevent stock outage and medication expiring.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

  • Enrolled Nursing.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in Enrolled Nurse duties.
  • At least 1 years’ experience in HIV.
  • Able to demonstrate ability to manage data collection and reporting.
  • Excellent Communication skills.
  • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS prevention.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Be familiar with Johannesburg Metro and surrounding districts.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Willing to travel to various communities as and when required.
