OUT provides direct health services to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community, MSM, sex workers, and injecting drug users, including HIV testing, counselling, treatment and general lifestyle advice and support.

OUT has been in existence for more than 21 years and is dedicated to the building of healthy and empowered LGBT communities in South Africa and internationally, while reducing hetrosexism and homophobia in society.

Job openings in Pretoria and Johannesburg

1. Head Office, Pretoria (Hatfield)

1.1 Monitoring and Evaluation Manager. S/he will manage monitoring and evaluation. Included is improving data capturing and monitoring progress, monitoring achievements of targets, ensuring that data coordinators are trained to receive accurate and quality data from the field, developing SOP guidelines for data capturing, validating and transmission, packaging and reporting data from CareWorks and submitting to  funder’s representative on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis and managing the data coordinators from all sites. Requirement: Appropriate degree and 5 years’ experience preferably in a PEPFAR program. R30 000.00 per month CTC

2. City of Johannesburg (Melville)

2.1 Health Manager. S/he will manage clinic staff, outreach staff and health services such as weekly and daily activities, rosters and targets, liaise with data coordinator for quality reports, weekly quality improvement meetings and interventions to achieve targets. Requirement: B-Degree and 4-6 years relevant experience preferably in a PEPFAR program and computer skills. R40 000.00 per month CTC

2.2 Clinic nurse. A clinic nurse will provide needed biomedical services on specified clinic days (weekdays and Saturdays). It includes HCT, ART initiation, PrEP, screenings for STIs and TB and behaviour change interventions. Requirement: suitable nursing qualification, must be in possession of a dispensing certificate and be able to dispense and prescribe medicines, and 5 years’ relevant experience. R28 000.00 per month CTC.

2.3 Outreach nurse. An outreach nurse will provide mobile biomedical services with peer outreach teams (varying hours, including after hours and weekends). It includes HCT, ART initiation, PrEP, screening for STIs and TB and behaviour change interventions. Requirement: suitable nursing qualification and registration, must be in possession of a dispensing certificate and be able to dispense and prescribe medicines, and 3 years relevant experience. R25 000.00 per month CTC

Currently OUT distributes safer sex packs to a range of venues in Tshwane that are utilised by gay men and lesbian women. These packs also include responsible sex messaging, appropriate barrier methods and lube.
OUT's Engage Men’s Health project offers free and confidential sexual health services to gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (MSM).
