OUT provides direct health services to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community, MSM, sex workers, and injecting drug users, including HIV testing, counselling, treatment and general lifestyle advice and support.

OUT has been in existence for more than 21 years and is dedicated to the building of healthy and empowered LGBT communities in South Africa and internationally, while reducing hetrosexism and homophobia in society.

Gauteng Health MEC opens OUT’s TEN81 Centre

Gauteng’s MEC for Health, Ms Qedani Mahlangu, has opened a groundbreaking new clinic in Tshwane, catering to the needs of groups at high risk of HIV infection.

On Thursday 3 September, MEC Mahlangu cut the ribbon to officially inaugurate the TEN81 Centre, located at the offices of OUT LGBT Well-being in Hatfield.

OUT LGBT Wellbeing, die Lesbiese/Gay/Biseksuele/Transseksuele organisasie in Pretoria, wil met hierdie skrywe graag vir Professor Nelus Niemandt bedank en hom loof vir die dapper stap wat hy geneem het om in sy persoonlike hoedanigheid by die NG Kerk te pleit dat die kerk haar deure oopgooi vir alle gay/lesbiese mense, hul huwelike, asook gay/lesbiese predikante.

What a journey it’s been. OUT, the Pretoria-based health and well-being non-profit organisation serving the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community, is celebrating its 21st anniversary this year.

Now one of the longest-running LGBT groups in the country, OUT was launched on the cusp of the new South Africa. Initially a loose network of individuals who wanted to make a difference, it’s become a respected professional organisation and a model for many community groups.

In a groundbreaking move, OUT LGBT Well-being, in partnership with the Gauteng Department of Health, is launching South Africa’s very first HIV and TB health clinic specifically for key population groups.

As from the 1st of July 2015, the Ten81 Centre in Hatfield, Tshwane will provide free HIV, TB, sexual health and other services uniquely tailored to the needs of the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) community, MSM (Men who have Sex with Men), sex workers and injecting drug users.
